Songs of the Seasons

Tilfi’s floral collection remembers the quiet beauty of India’s street flowers—those that grace our paths, ever present yet often overlooked. Handwoven in the Banarasi cutwork technique, each saree in the collection is a vivid interpretation of these iconic flowers, bringing to life the memories and emotions of these humble blooms.

An ode to the ephemeral

Drawing from the seldom spoken poetry of everyday blossoms, the collection reflects the role these flowers play in our cultural tapestry. In unnoticed ways, they etch themselves into our lives. Featuring flowers like Gulmohar, Hibiscus, Palash, Jasmine, Kachnar, and Amaltas, these sarees evoke warmth and nostalgia, carrying memories of love, purity, and innocence. This collection is an invitation to pause and reflect on the ephemeral beauty that surrounds us—in fleeting bursts of crimson on a Gulmohar tree or the gentle fragrance of Jasmine carried on a dusk breeze. The quiet presence of flowers that line our paths is a reminder of beauty that is within reach yet often unnoticed. This collection of silk weaves seeks to immortalize that fleeting beauty, paying homage to the simplicity of the everyday.

About Technique

With six distinctive designs, each saree celebrates a different flower, meticulously crafted in the cutwork Banarasi style. The motifs are unlike traditional Banarasi patterns, focusing on direct representation rather than an abstract stylization. Intricate vines, woven in a jaal pattern using meenakari, allow the flowers to stand out in their natural forms. The color palette stays true to the blooms, with a subtle touch of zari adding a gentle glow without overshadowing the flowers' beauty. The sarees’ backgrounds mirror the flowers’ surroundings, grounding the designs in an essence of simplicity and grace, creating a collection that feels both enduring and wearable.
