Tilfi’s Silk & Wool collection extends Banarasi into new material terrain, uniting the warmth of Pashmina with the lustre of silk. Handwoven with pure silk in the warp and Pashmina wool in the weft, the textile finds balance between softness and structure: an elegant stillness shaped by discipline, innovation and touch.

As a material intervention, Silk & Wool stands as a pioneering advancement, a unique combination and proprietary weave that broadens the expressive language of Banarasi craft, widening its functional possibilities and inviting new audiences.  

The integrity of a hybrid textile relies entirely on the purity of its raw fibers. The Pashmina wool used across this collection is responsibly sourced from Kashmir, independently tested and verified by the Pashmina Testing & Quality Certification Centre (PTQC) and the Wool Research Association (WRA). Blended with our pure silks and zari, each piece carries an uncompromised standard of material honesty.

Introducing fine Pashmina to a weaving tradition historically calibrated for continuous silk requires re-engineering the mechanics of the loom itself. Pashmina behaves with an entirely different elasticity under tension than silk.

By navigating these contrasting fiber behaviors, Silk & Wool achieves a unique proprietary weave: a dense yet fluid textile that sculpts and insulates without sacrificing the drape.
