Black Silk-Pashmina Wool Banarasi Handloom Saree

Combining the softness of silk with the warmth of Pashmina wool, this saree has been handcrafted with innovative Banarasi artistry. Its pattern features a silver zari skirt border of gently swaying tulips, imparting a note of blooming elegance to an understated silhouette.

• Fabric: Pure silk in the warp and Pashmina wool in the weft
  Technique: Patterning in the elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique, which involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric.
• Speciality: This fabric has been handwoven in the twill weave to achieve a supple drape; even in its texture, strength, and insulation. A singular creation that reimagines traditional Banarasi weaves.
  Collection Note: The collection's design language pays homage to the native flora of Kashmir, from where the wool has been locally sourced. Each motif draws from a line drawing treatment to give it a sketched feel with an embroidery-like appearance,  rendering a timeless inspiration with contemporary allure.
