Iram
A woven ode to Kalamkari traditions and Deccan extravagance in real roopa sona zari. This lehenga unfolds a universe of fantastical florals that bloom with both grace and bold exuberance. Featuring a hand-embroidered waistband, it showcases a central Tree of Life motif symbolising growth and prosperity. Woven in lustrous satin silk with Kadhua meenakari, the lehenga brings Deccan imagination to life while remaining rooted in tradition.
The ensemble is paired with a handwoven katan silk dupatta, adorned with delicate floral vines and ornate boota corners. A hand-embroidered organza ordhani with handwoven borders and velvet facings lend the set a touch of refined grace. Completing the look is a matching blouse and a brocade jacket that add structure and poise.

Fabric - Lehenga Skirt and blouse in pure Satin Silk, Handwoven Dupatta in pure Katan Silk and Hand-embroidered Odhani in pure Silk Organza.

Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and Meenakari. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but it makes a more robust pattern that stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process.

Collection Note - A celebration of the imaginative artistry that flourished in the royal courts of the Deccan, Tilfi’s Bridal collection finds its roots in heritage. Inspired by the lyrical floral artistry of Kalamkari paintings, the collection evokes a surreal dreamscape where florals blur the line between the real and the imagined. Merging Deccan opulence and regalia with the symmetrical harmony of the Islamic school of art, it celebrates the continuity of tradition and the grandeur of a bygone world, while carrying a promise of a future shaped by vision and artistry.
