'Flora' Brown Pure Katan Gheecha Silk Banarasi Handloom Saree

Flora takes its cue from the botanical motifs found in Roman frescoes, where flowers and foliage were arranged as part of the architecture itself, interpreted here through the Banarasi weave. Woven in the Kadhua technique in Katan with textured Gheecha yarn, the saree has a subtly tactile surface that lends depth to its warm brown body. Delicate sprigs are scattered across the body, while the pallu gathers into larger floral forms, framed by a fine floral border and beige accents. The interplay of the textured yarn and composition recalls the decorative panels of ancient interiors, but feels softer and more fluid in the drape.

• Technique- An enduring Kadhua weave. This elaborate and laborious technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern which stands out on the fabric

• Speciality-Woven with Gheecha, a unique textured raw silk, the saree uses uneven, tactile yarns in extra-weft patterning to create an organic, earthy surface distinct from the polished richness of traditional zari brocades.
• Tilfi Promise-Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
• Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.
