A Handwoven Legacy
One of our finest pieces, this is an artistic treasure! Incredibly difficult to weave and timeless in its appeal, a Banarasi Rangkat saree is a rare, handloom masterpiece. This gem has a distinctive chevron pattern creating an exquisitely balanced multi-coloured pallette and stunning bands of kora tissue, all woven in pure zari made of real silver. This saree brings the best of Banarasi weaving traditions.
-
Color - Multiple delicate, pastel hues
-
Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric.
-
Fabric - Light and airy, pure Kora Silk
-
Speciality - Rangkat is a handloom technique which is on the verge of disappearing. Only a handful of weavers remain that can weave a true Rangkat. This exquisite and time-intensive technique can be identified by the sharp changes in the base colours of the fabric. This requires multiple changes in the warp and the weft and produces a beautiful multicoloured garment.
-
Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
- Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.
Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
