'Gabrielle' Lilac Rangkat Pure Katan and Tissue Silk Banarasi Handloom Saree

SKARKPL10995

Gabrielle

An exquisite Banarasi Rangkat saree handwoven in a distinctive combination of soft Katan silk and glistening silver Tissue silk. Adorned with an undulating aadha jangla pattern in roopa sona zari, the drape features motifs inspired by the structures of laces, curving forms, and shell shapes characteristic of Rococo fashion, art, and architecture. A magnificent amalgamation of two heritage artistries in a metallic and pastel palette.

  • Color - Shades of Lilac and Silver
  • Fabric - Pure Katan silk and Tissue silk
  • Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric.
  • Collection note - A pioneering take on the Banarasi brocade, Tilfi's Quarter to Time collection finds artistic synergies between 18th century French Rococo art and heritage Banarasi craftsmanship, marrying silhouettes that have defined feminine wardrobes across diverse cultures and eras.
  • SpecialityRangkat is a handloom technique which is on the verge of disappearing. Only a handful of weavers remain that can weave a true Rangkat, which requires multiple changes in the warp and the weft to produce a beautiful multicoloured garment.
  • Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
  • Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.

Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
