Fleeting Pleasures
Through their brushwork, famed Rococo painters blended idyllic scenery with playful demeanour, often met with a bittersweet awareness of impermanence. On a similar note, the Tilfi Quarter to Time campaign is imagined in the liminal space between a dreamscape and reality, echoing the thematic nuances of the Rococo era’s paintings.
Throughout the collection, classic Banarasi Kadwa, Phekwa and Vasket art have been employed to weave refined zari patterns reminiscent of Rococo’s ornate architectural wonders and laces in light-hearted palettes.
Ruffles and Frills
The robe à la française was a popular style of dress in the courtly life of late 18th century France. This type of gown was made of lavish silks, adorned with a plethora of frills and ruffles, had a tight bodice with a low-cut square neckline, and a back that fell in pleats or gathers. These features have been artfully reflected in the Quarter to Time collection’s ruched blouses with wide-cut necklines, hand-embroidered viscose-organza trimmings, and exaggerated sleeves.
