A labyrinth of paisleys in a celebration of Indian textile arts. Influenced and inspired by a Kashmiri design legacy, this is a plain-bodied Banarasi Jamawar saree with a minutely detailed Meenakari border and pallu in many hues of resham.
-
Color - A shade of Pastel Yellow
-
Fabric - Soft as butter, pure Katan silk
-
Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and masterly Meenakari. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern that stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary colored resham threads during the hand-weaving process.
-
Speciality - Banarasi weavers have sought inspiration in India's rich and varied regions and borrowed these elaborate paisley motifs from the Jamawar shawl and embroidery traditions of Kashmir. A beautiful handwoven piece of heritage from Banaras.
-
Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
- Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes only.
Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
