Fabric: Soft as butter, pure Katan silk

Technique: The Kadhua technique is an intricate and labor-intensive process where each motif is hand-woven separately, creating a distinct and elevated pattern. Unlike other weaving methods, the technique requires more time on the handloom, as the weaver carefully interlaces each thread, ensuring that the design is independent of the fabric’s base weave. The separate weaving of motifs allows for a greater level of precision and complexity in design, with each motif standing out vividly, with an almost embossed texture. The addition of Meenakari further enhances the allure of this weave. Meenakari, the painstaking process of incorporating supplementary coloured resham threads into the weave, adds a burst of colour to the already intricate pattern, infusing the fabric with a rich interplay of hues.
-
Speciality: The intricate craftsmanship of weaving this real zari Jaaldaar saree of exceptional complexity demands the synchronized efforts of two highly skilled artisans, working in perfect harmony. Over 2.5 months, they create just three inches of textile per day, embodying the meticulous nature of this labor of love. Each line of weaving involves up to 80 precise sirkis—individual hand movements to delicately insert extra weft yarns of 15 meenakari colours, which form the elaborate patterns. A painstaking process, marked by precision and patience, resulting in a timeless masterpiece.

Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.
