'Sienna' Beige-Sage Green Pure Katan Gheecha Silk Banarasi Handloom Saree

Inspired by the frescoes of ancient Roman villas, this saree translates their richly ornamented surfaces into the language of the Banarasi loom. Woven in Katan with textured gheecha silk, it pairs a beige ground with sage green panels, creating a contrast across the drape. The pallu and border are composed of framed panels, each centred around a symmetrical floral motif with curling forms extending from a central bloom. Small red accents define the motif, while the interplay of other colours gives the saree a depth reminiscent of aged frescoes, and the textured silk lends the entire composition a tactile quality.

• Colour- A gentle Beige-Sage Green
• Technique - An enduring Kadhua weave. This elaborate and laborious technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern which stands out on the fabric
• Fabric- Pure Katan Silk
• Speciality-Woven with Gheecha, a unique textured raw silk, the saree uses uneven, tactile yarns in extra-weft patterning to create an organic, earthy surface distinct from the polished richness of traditional zari brocades.
• Tilfi Promise-Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
• Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.
