A world of mythical creatures and jewel motifs unfold, where each detail carries a story of power and protection. The Yali, a symbol of strength, stands alongside the makara, while the peacock evokes beauty and royalty. The Kirti Mukha, traditionally associated with divine protection, adorns the borders of the hand-embroidered skirt, enriching its ornamental composition. The ensemble is completed by an off-white blouse in pure satin tissue with delicate embroidery, a handwoven tissue dupatta, and a shimmering hand-embroidered odhani, each contributing a distinct textural element to the look.

Technique: An enduring Kadwa weave and Meenakari. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but it makes a more robust pattern that stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process.

Collection Note:Tilfi’s Bridal Collection looks to the sculptural world of the Hoysala temples of Belur, drawing inspiration from the Madanika, the celestial maiden celebrated for her movement, adornment and feminine presence. Inspired by her idealised beauty and the poetry of Hoysala sculpture, Bridal 2026 translates this visual language through Banarasi textiles and hand-worked metal, bringing together the fluidity of silk and the sculptural presence of brass in a new expression of bridal adornment.
