The animated grace of temple sculpture finds expression in this lehenga, depicting Bhasma Mohini, in tribhanga beneath a flourishing tree. Surrounded by foliage and musicians, the figures echo the ornamental detail of temple architecture.Woven in pure satin silk tissue using the Kadhua technique, the lehenga brings sculptural forms to life across the silhouette. A handwoven Kora Tissue dupatta carries the same ornamental vocabulary, completing the ensemble.

Technique: An enduring Kadwa weave and Meenakari. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but it makes a more robust pattern that stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process. The finest Tanchoi weaving technique employs one or more warps and multiple coloured wefts to produce a self-design across the lehenga set. The technique ensures that there is no float on the reverse, resulting in a clean and finely woven finish.

Collection Note:Tilfi’s Bridal Collection looks to the sculptural world of the Hoysala temples of Belur, drawing inspiration from the Madanika, the celestial maiden celebrated for her movement, adornment and feminine presence. Inspired by her idealised beauty and the poetry of Hoysala sculpture, Bridal 2026 translates this visual language through Banarasi textiles and hand-worked metal, bringing together the fluidity of silk and the sculptural presence of brass in a new expression of bridal adornment.
