Tarini - "Lady in Blue"
She was an enigma, like a puzzle not intended to be solved.
A touch of vintage, a thing of beauty, the perfect piece of heritage luxury. This is a charming Banarasi beauty, handwoven in the sublime Ektara style, with delightful sona antique zari bootis, the exquisite Kadhua weave and a koniya aanchal.
-
Color - A stunning shade of Navy Blue
-
Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and fine Ektara technique. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric.
-
Fabric - Soft as butter, pure Katan silk
-
Speciality - An elegant bootidaar pattern with a koniya aanchal or paisleys at its corners. The corners are particularly difficult to weave as they are a break from the running pattern, but koniyas look magnificent when worn.
-
Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
- Note - The saree comes with a plain blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes - that is available to order separately here.
Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
