Woven with the most intricate Jangla pattern, this saree is a stunning testament to the opulence that defines Banarasi weaving. Bringing together over 15 shades of meenakari and real zari, interwoven in a kadwa pattern of exceptional precision, this weave is a complex and sophisticated feat. Each delicate floral motif is meticulously designed, seated within a lattice jaal that unfurls gracefully across the fabric. At the Koniya, the iconic Tilfi paisley motif pays homage to the artisanship and rich heritage of the city.

Speciality

The creation of this exquisite textile masterpiece requires the synchronised expertise of two highly skilled artisans over the span of three months, weaving with unparalleled precision. Progressing at just 2.5 inches per day, each line of weaving demands up to 80 meticulous sirkis and 90 picks per inch. The process involves the intricate insertion of over 15 meenakari—vividly colored extra weft yarns—interwoven with patterns crafted in real zari made of pure silver metal.

Technique

The Kadhua technique is an intricate and labour-intensive process where each motif is hand-woven separately, creating a distinct and elevated pattern. Unlike other weaving methods, the technique requires more time on the handloom, as the weaver carefully interlaces each thread, ensuring that the design is independent of the fabric’s base weave. A painstaking process, marked by precision and patience, resulting in a timeless masterpiece.
