Sunday Sparrows
A delightful drape that sings a sparrow's song. The auspicious symbols of happiness and the coming of spring, skip and fly across the body as intricate bamboo lattices adorn its borders.
-
Color - A delicate shade of Blue
-
Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and fine Meenakari technique. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process.
-
Fabric - Soft as butter, pure Katan silk
-
Speciality - Dainty sparrows, individually woven in zari and meenakari, adorn the body of this luxurious drape. Inspired by the Oriental art of scroll paintings, our weave transports the viewer to a tranquil scene. Peony Pavilion unfolds as a revelation, demanding dedicated attention to reveal the blooming delicacy of its poetic language.
-
Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
- Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.
Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
