Tilfi’s Silk & Wool collection extends Banarasi into new material terrain, uniting the warmth of Pashmina with the lustre of silk. Handwoven with pure silk in the warp and Pashmina wool in the weft, the textile finds balance between softness and structure: an elegant stillness shaped by discipline, innovation and touch.
This season’s exploration deepens last year’s journey into the Himalayas. Inspired by the quiet expanses where snow-draped peaks meet shifting skies, the collection draws from landscapes that appear motionless yet carry undercurrents of change. Disciplined linework evokes ridgelines and terrains; meenakari accents introduce subtle texture; zari traces muted petals and frost-kissed branches. Within these serene surfaces, vivid mountain bluebirds, blue jays, and magpies appear – at rest or caught mid-flight – bringing movement, colour, and life to the tranquil snowscapes.
From this stillness, the collection finds its transformation. Silk & Wool turns inwards toward the thresholds where tradition evolves by deliberate design. Rather than ruptures or chance occurrences, the collection emerges from intentional departures. Moments where the familiar is re-examined, where legacy opens itself to new interpretations. The essence of Banarasi’s past is not replicated but consciously rearticulated, imprinted onto the present through refined patterning, earthy palettes, and enduring Kadhua weaves.
This chapter of Silk & Wool spans sarees, shawls, stoles and a focused line of apparel, demonstrating the textile’s versatility and its capacity to sculpt, insulate and drape with ease. The collection offers a thoughtful expansion of Banarasi craftsmanship into forms suited to the contemporary wardrobe while preserving its inherent intricacy. As a material intervention, Silk & Wool stands as a pioneering advancement, a unique combination and proprietary weave that broadens the expressive language of Banarasi craft, widening their functional possibilities and inviting new audiences into the craft.
These liminal spaces are crafted bridges for material, memory and technique to shape a renewed sensibility. The collection becomes an evolving archive of touch and remembrance, charting a thoughtfully imagined material chapter that carries an unmistakably Banarasi character.
The Pashmina wool used in this collection is responsibly sourced from Kashmir, verified by the Pashmina Testing & Quality Certification Centre, and from the Wool Research Association (WRA) in Maharashtra.
Silk & Wool stands at the threshold of tradition and innovation – a space shaped with intention.

The collection will be available on Tilfi’s website from December 19th, 2025, onwards.
