In this textile composition, the elephant's dignified instinctive movement is portrayed in magnificence, its form rendered with silk-tinted meenakari and woven with a deliberate, graceful hand. The composition is an ode to the stately gait of the elephant, a vision of royalty and refinement captured in Banaras’s artistic lexicon.
- Dimensions- 23 X 18.25 inch

Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and fine Meenakari technique. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process.
