A black Katan silk Shikaargah saree with carefully woven scenes of leopards resting on tree branches, surrounded by blossoms and foliage. A Banarasi classic featuring a lyrical jangla pattern, masterful Meenakari work, and abundant use of zari.
-
Color - A shade of Black
-
Fabric - Soft as butter, pure Katan silk
-
Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and Meenakari. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process.
-
Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
-
Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.
Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
