Tilfi hosted a two-day, invite-only showcase in Lucknow from September 24-26, showcasing its textile repertoire in a city historically renowned for its patronage of arts, culture, and refined craftsmanship. Held for the region’s discerning patrons, the fashion event presented Tilfi’s finest weaves in an intimate and thoughtfully curated setting.

The selection featured exceptional works rooted in history and technical mastery.Nazaara, a piece of remarkable complexity, emphasised generational expertise in the Rangkat weaving technique in real zari. One of the most intricate textiles created at Tilfi, it required months of dedicated craftsmanship: a rare blend of discipline, patience, and deep reverence for the loom.Anaar Lata offered a reinterpretation of classical Ragamala paintings, bringing together symbolism and artistry to create textiles of cultural depth. TheAwadhi Jamdani was presented through select pieces from theAwadh collection. Rendered in serene white, they revealed an interplay of light and shadow, clarity, and detail. The exhibition also featured the graph of Yatra, commissioned for the Parliament building. With no repetition across its intricate depiction of Kashi’s skyline, it stood as a testament to excellence and Tilfi’s provenance.
An insightful talk by co-founder Ujjwal Khanna unfolded the inner workings of a craft ecosystem and Tilfi’s philosophy of textile creation. He reflected on how craft does not emerge in isolation but thrives within a dynamic cultural environment, shaped and reshaped by each generation. The conversation opened pathways into diverse craft vocabularies, exploring the house’s reinterpretations across material, form and scale. Illuminating how Tilfi brings the artisanal legacy into meaningful dialogue with the present, the talk positioned craft as a living inheritance that continually renews itself while honouring its origins.
